Connect People are seeking multiple experienced Water Maintenance Technicians / Leak Detectors for positions in Mitcham, VIC. 

Our client is one of Australia's largest water and sewer maintenance capital service providers, providing a range of planned, maintenance, repair, restoration and renewal services across the North and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The Role:
  • $36.00 p/h + penatlies + superannuation.
  • Monday - Friday.
  • 7:00am - 3:00pm. 
  • Opportunities for overtime both during the week and on weekends. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct leak detection across the water network using acoustic equipment, correlators, data loggers, ground microphones and digital mapping tools.
  • Accurately locate underground leaks and analyse flow, consumption and pressure data to identify irregularities.
  • Coordinate with field crews to plan and support repair works, including valve checks, hydrant inspections and network isolations.
  • Complete detailed reports, asset condition assessments and update digital systems (GIS / works management) with supporting photos and documentation.
  • Maintain strong safety standards while working in the field, including correct use of PPE, traffic management controls and hazard reporting.

Desired skills & experience:
  • Previous experience in leak detection, water networks, plumbing, civil maintenance, or utilities fieldwork.
  • Understanding of water reticulation systems, including pipes, fittings and valves.
  • Experience using leak detection equipment such as acoustic listening devices, correlators and data loggers.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, situational awareness and the ability to work independently in field environments.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence. 

Prior to commencement all successful candidates will be required to obtain a National Police Check and undergo a Drug & Alcohol test.
