We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a landmark infrastructure project delivering the Square Kilometre Array (SKA-LOW) — the world’s largest radio telescope and a once-in-a-generation scientific initiative.
This is a unique project which is possible through an international organisation formed by 16 countries. This role involves the opportunity to work and interact with technical teams from several countries and Australian teams including CSIRO.

Key Details:
  • Flat Day rate: $700-800 per day + $150 LAFHA per day
  • FIFO roster: 2 weeks on / 1 week off
  • Hours: 6:00am - 5:00pm, 11.5hrs p/day & 80hrs p/week
  • Location: South Murchison, WA

About the Role:
This is a FIFO 2:1 contract role working in a remote location, with flights, accommodation, and meals provided, offering the opportunity to contribute to a globally significant project at the forefront of space science and engineering.
You will be reporting to the Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning of the power plant providing power to the telescope infrastructure and their HV network. To assist with the final stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and Coordinate the Commissioning of a Power Plant and a HV Network. 
  • Produce and Review Commissioning Documents.
  • Organise Safety Workshops.
  • Produce weekly reports.
  • Assist other teams and onsite as required.
About You
You are a proactive, solutions-focused engineer who thrives in complex, remote projects and works collaboratively across disciplines.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering: The ideal candidate should possess three to five years of general electrical engineering experience.
  • Specific Focus: Commissioning of diesel power plants ranging from 1MW to 5MW.
  • Essential Experience: Direct experience working with diesel generators and 11kV high-voltage networks is essential. Safety Certification: Must hold a valid White Card.
  • Computer Literacy: Demonstrate strong computer literacy, with critical proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as this constitutes a significant portion of daily responsibilities.
  • Commissioning Experience: Open to candidates at any level within the commissioning field, provided they meet the core technical criteria.
  • FIFO: Previous experience or remote working.
